Cookie & Tracking Policy
Last updated July 23, 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies SetQR uses — and, just as importantly, the tracking we avoid.
Cookies we use
- Essential — a secure, encrypted session cookie (set by our authentication provider) so you stay signed in. The Service can't function without it.
- Preferences — small values that remember choices like your theme or a dismissed banner.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party ad or social trackers on our marketing site or dashboard.
The conversion pixel
Account holders can add our optional conversion pixel to their own website to measure what happens after someone scans their code or clicks their link. Here's exactly how it behaves:
- It only activates for visitors who arrived from a SetQR link or scan — for everyone else it is completely inert.
- It stores a short-lived token in the visitor's sessionStorage (cleared when the tab closes), not a cross-site cookie.
- It measures page views, scroll depth, clicks, and conversions for that single session.
- It does not set third-party cookies, does not track people across other websites, and does not build an advertising profile. Form field values are never captured.
QR scans and link clicks
When a code is scanned or a link clicked, we log event analytics (time, coarse location, device, referrer) as described in our Privacy Policy. This is server-side measurement of the event and does not place a cookie on the visitor's device.
Your choices
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time (clearing the session cookie signs you out). Most browsers also let you block or limit storage per site.
